Morgan Westin is a teenage wallflower -- who may or may not be responsible for her step-sister's murder. Detective Harold Casey is brought on to the case once suspicion for the crime falls on Joseph, a local drug dealer with whom Casey has a long-unsettled score. When Casey discovers that the killer might be Morgan, not Joseph, he decides to help her get away with murder, so that the "right man" can end up in jail. But is Morgan a cold-blooded killer, an innocent victim, or something in between?
Why you might like this:
Fans of gritty, character-driven crime dramas will appreciate the taut mystery and nuanced performances in Trigger Finger, the 2012 film directed by Kerem Sanga. With a focus on the complex relationship between a teen wallflower (Layla Mae) and the detective (Michael James Bell) investigating her step-sister's murder, the film blends psychological suspense with an examination of morally ambiguous choices.
Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a disorder characterized by catching or locking of the involved finger in full or near full flexion, typically with force. There may be tenderness in the palm of the hand near the last skin crease. The name "trigger finger" may refer to the motion of "catching" like a trigger on a gun. The ring finger and thumb are most commonly affected. Effects commonly last 3 to 7 days.
