After a successful deployment of the RoboCop Law Enforcement unit, OCP sees its goal of urban pacification come closer and closer, but as this develops, a new narcotic known as "Nuke" invades the streets led by God-delirious leader Cane. As this menace grows, it may prove to be too much for Murphy to handle. OCP tries to replicate the success of the first unit, but ends up with failed prototypes with suicidal issues... until Dr. Faxx, a scientist straying away from OCP's path, uses Cane as the new subject for the RoboCop 2 project, a living God.
Why you might like this:
Fans of the original RoboCop will appreciate director Irvin Kershner's bold, dystopian vision in the 1990 sequel, with Peter Weller returning as the cyborg law enforcer facing off against a drug-addled criminal mastermind. The film blends thrilling action set pieces with deeper themes of corporate greed and the dehumanizing effects of advanced technology.
RoboCop 2 is a 1990 American science-fiction action film directed by Irvin Kershner and written by Frank Miller and Walon Green. It stars Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O'Herlihy, Belinda Bauer, Tom Noonan, and Gabriel Damon. It is the sequel to the 1987 film RoboCop, the second entry in the RoboCop franchise and the last to feature Weller as RoboCop until he returned in Mortal Kombat 11 (2019), RoboCop: Rogue City (2023) and other media. It is the last film Kershner directed before his death in 2010.
