The film stars Jason Mewes and Smith, respectively, as the two eponymous characters, along with Ben Affleck, Eliza Dushku, Shannon Elizabeth, Will Ferrell, Ali Larter, Jason Lee, and Chris Rock. It is the fifth film in the View Askewniverse. The story follows Jay and Silent Bob as they discover a movie is being made about their comic book alter-egos, Bluntman and Chronic, but they've been cut out of the profits, leading them to travel to Hollywood to sabotage the film's production. The title and logo for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are direct references to The Empire Strikes Back (1980).
